Climate
January in Shanghai is winter. It is recommended for you to wear thick and warm clothes. Usually temperature outside varies between 1°C to 8°C (33°F to 46°F).

Electricity
The electric current used in China is 220V@50Hz. The hotels provide 220V and 110V (for shavers only) outlets. The outlet in China is as shown in the picture. Please prepare plug adapter accordingly.

Currency and Banking
CNY (RMB, Chinese yuan) is the only currency officially used in China. Money exchanges by cash or traveler's checks can be made at banks at the airport, hotels and tourist stores.
Banks usually open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day (including Saturdays and Sundays). Currency exchange services are available for the following foreign currencies: US Dollar, British Pound Sterling, Euro, Japanese Yen, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Swiss Franc, Danish Krone, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krone, Singapore Dollar, Malaysian Ringgit, and Macao Pataca. Please note small money exchange outlets may not accept all the above currencies.
Credit cards such as American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Master Card and Visa are acceptable in most hotels and tourist stores.

ATM Machine
ATM Machine Shanghai is a ATM friendly city. However, not all the ATMs accept cards outside China. Please find machines with logo of "Bank of China" in case using ATM.

Insurance
The organizers do not accept any liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to the private property of any participants during the conference or indirectly arising from attending the confernece. It is advisable that participants should take adequate travel and health insurances before leaving their own countries.

Safety and Security
Shanghai is a very safe city.
Please take care of your belongings when you are in crowd places. Pickpockets happen occasionally.

Tipping
Generally speaking, China is a non-tipping country. However, gratuity is still appreciated in high-end hotels or restaurants.
